The NFL’s brilliant construction of its offseason means there is no downtime until the month before training camps open.With the draft now complete, the prime-time release of each teams regular-season schedule is likely to be held a week from Thursday, or May 9. Odds are the NFL won’t acknowledge the exact day of the announcement until next week.For the past few years, I’ve put together a mock schedule for the Minnesota Vikings —some do mock drafts, some do mock schedules—and gone through it game-by-game with my podcast partners Phil Mackey and Declan Goff on Purple Daily on SKOR North. That means taking the known opponents and forecasting exact days, kickoff times, and the network that will carry games.Am I right? Probably not. Do I think the NFL schedule-makers would be wise to take a look at this work of art and copy it? Definitely. Thus, here’s one man’s guess at how the schedule will look.
