Saints QB Spencer Rattler invited to NFLPA Rookie Premiere

Image Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports Rattler will be one of 40 rookies from this year’s draft class. Rookie New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler is one of 40 NFL rookies that has been invited to 2024 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. The event will take place in Los Angeles from May 16-19. Saints QB Spencer Rattler is among those who are invited https://t.co/DAQiidcodw— Tina Howell (@TinaHowellNOLA) May 9, 2024 The Rookie Premiere, according to Sportskeeda, is a program organized by the NFLPA to acquire corporate brands and help league sponsors get to know some of the most marketable draft picks. The event allows NFL partners “unparalleled access” to up-and-coming stars. On a surface level, there are multiple Saints’ draft picks that might be more deserving than Rattler; however, the event invites appear to be based on marketability rather than talent. Rattler created a well-known brand during his college years in both Oklahoma and South Carolina. Regardless of his rookie performance, he’s thus far proven his “marketability.” Unfortunately, Saints’ second-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry did not receive an invite to the event. If “marketability” is the cardinal criterion, then perhaps the man named “Kool-Aid” should be atop the list. Unfortunately for Kool-Aid and other defensive rookies, only two of the 40 invites were given to defensive players.
