The New Orleans Saints travel to face divisional foe Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game that will likely decide the winner of the NFC South. If the Bucs win, they clinch the division and the likely fourth playoff seed. The Saints need to win out and get some help from the Carolina Panthers next week to stand a chance at the division. There are other various scenarios for both teams, but a win is very important for both teams in this matchup. Each week, CSC will preview and highlight some wagers for every Saints game. NFL Week 17 Saints at Buccaneers best bets Saints game line +3(-130) There is absolutely no way that the Saints do not give fans false hope for the playoffs going into week 18 of the NFL season. After such a trying season, there is no way that this Saints iteration is going to let the season be decided one game early. It is not like the Buccaneers are a juggernaut team either. The Bucs have largely beaten up on bad or injured teams in the last few weeks, but expect the best out of the Saints in this game. If the Saints do come out looking flat once again though, the calls for sideline firing will be deafening. Saints keep it close either way.

Mike Evans over 61.5 receiving yards(-115) There are very few corners in the NFL who can deal with the size and strength of Mike Evans. Do not be fooled by the previous struggles of Evans against the Saints because Marshon Lattimore will not be on the field in this matchup. Lattimore and Evans’ rivalry is long and storied, but alas, it will not continue this week. Evans is likely a hall of fame wide receiver who thrives in matchups against even good defensive backs. That will continue this week as Evans loves to show out when Lattimore is off the field. Evans is a touch matchup and will go for over 62 receiving yards against whoever the Saints put on him.

Jamaal Williams over 5.5 rushing attempts(-115) Alvin Kamara could miss this weekend’s game against the divisional foe Buccaneers due to an illness. Even if he does return, Kamara could be hampered by the lingering effects of this illness that has been looming throughout the country recently. Even though he has been called upon sparingly, Jamaal Williams is a very serviceable running back who can easily step into the starting role for the Saints on Sunday. The matchup is okay for Williams as well. The Buccaneers allow almost 1.5 yards before contact to running backs, which is middle of the pack around the league. Williams’ bruising running style can wear the Bucs down later in the game as well, leading to him having six or more carries in the game. Long shot of the game Trey Palmer anytime TD scorer(+450) One of the worst matchups for the Saints this season has been opposing slot receivers. The team is greatly missing Marshon Lattimore who can usually shut down an entire side of the field alone, causing the defense to have to roll safeties to primary receivers. With this the case, slot and underneath receivers are usually open, especially fast ones like Trey Palmer. The rookie Palmer has emerged as a viable threat for the Buccaneers this season, garnering five or more targets in four of his last six games.
