Raiders News: Raiders interviewed Kris Richard on Tuesday for head coach opening

After little to no news on the head coach opening last week, things are moving quicker this week for the Las Vegas Raiders. On Tuesday, the team conducted an in-person interview with former NFL defensive coordinator Kris Richard, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Raiders conducted an in-person head coaching interview today with longtime NFL assistant coach Kris Richard, who played for the team in 2007, per source. The 44-year-old Richard has coached with the Seahawks, Cowboys and Saints. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 17, 2024 Richard isn’t currently on a coaching staff and that is why he was able to be interviewed in person as opposed to a Zoom interview. Richard comes from the Pete Carrol coaching tree and could be a possible defensive coordinator option for the next head coach in Las Vegas. While it seems unlikely that Richard will become the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, it does appear that Mark Davis and his staff are doing their due diligence on several candidates before making a decision.
