Raiders News: Raiders Draft Radar: Top running back fits by round

This season the Raiders workhorse back will be wearing another uniform for the first time since they drafted him at 24 overall in the 2019 draft. Josh Jacobs, who was the NFL’s rushing champ in 2022 with 1653 yards and 12 touchdowns, is now a member of the Green Bay Packers. The Raiders attempted to get ahead of this by using a fourth round pick on Zamir White in the 2022 draft. And based on his performance in the final few games of last season, he may just be up to the task. But it’s important to point out that prior to that five-game stretch last season, White had barely touched the rock over two seasons. If they thought he was the heir apparent, you’d think they would have worked him into the lineup instead of relentlessly feeding Jacobs right up until he was too injured to take the field.Even if White is ready for workhorse duties, Raiders new GM Tom Telesco has made it clear that’s not what he wants. He wants a RB-by-committee approach. They signed Alexander Mattison this offseason with that in mind, but they’d be wise to keep one eye on the board to see if someone they like is available lower than they expected. I got the feeling that’s what happened with White two years ago. These are the backs in this class who I see being that guy.
