The 2024 NFL Draft is in the books, and the New England Patriots were quite busy. Originally entering with 71 players on the roster — leaving 19 spots open for draft selections as well as rookie free agents — the team filled eight of those through the draft. The expectation was that all three of those positions would be addressed early in the draft, with the QB spot the first domino to fall: New England selected North Carolina passer Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the first round. The team later went after those other positions, too, picking a pair of wide receivers capable of lining up on the perimeter (Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker) as well as a developmental offensive tackle with starter upside on the left side (Caedan Wallace). In total, eight draft picks were invested during the three-day event.
