The New England Patriots defense continues to make plays against the Denver Broncos. After already executing a successful goal-line stop on its first drive of the two teams’ Week 16 primetime battle, the unit was able to produce another turnover to end the Broncos’ fourth possession of the night. Denver had moved the ball to the New England 38-yard line following a series of successful run plays, but on a 1st-and-10 was unable to generate any yardage. Linebacker Jahlani Tavai was not just able to stop Javonte Williams behind the line of scrimmage, he also managed to pry the ball loose to force a fumble. The loose football appeared to stay in Denver’s possession, but a good effort by defensive lineman Jeremiah Pharms Jr. allowed him to come up with the recovery. The Patriots offense did not do much with the football — par the course this season — but the defense continues to make plays.
