Tight end Pharaoh Brown added to Patriots’ injury report on eve of Chiefs game

The New England Patriots have made a change to their injury report on the eve of their Week 15 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Tight end Pharaoh Brown, who was previously not listed, was added to the report following Saturday’s walkthrough. He is officially questionable to play on Sunday because of a foot injury. Brown, 29, is in his first season with the Patriots. Despite being brought on after roster cutdowns, the former practice squad member has been able to carve out a relatively active role within the team’s offense: seeing action in all 13 games so far, Brown has been on the field for 32.7 percent of New England’s offense snaps. Along the way, the career journeyman has caught eight passes for a career-high 174 yards and one touchdown. His 21.8 yards per reception is the highest such mark on the team. His availability for the game against Kansas City is now in question, however. Brown is one of eight players falling into that category. Wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and Tyquan Thornton (hamstring), offensive tackle Trent Brown (ankle, hand, illness), defensive tackle Christian Barmore (shoulder, illness), linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley (knee) and special teamer Matthew Slater (groin) are all questionable as well. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has been ruled out. The Patriots’ game against the Chiefs on Sunday is set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
