Patriots News: Patriots DT Davon Godchaux couldn't hide frustrations after shutout loss

New England Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux summed up his frustrations on Sunday, following his team’s 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The offense struggled throughout the entirety of the day. Quarterback Bailey Zappe went 13-of-25 on the afternoon, throwing for 141 yards. New England only managed 257 yards of total offense. The defense did their part on the afternoon, holding the Chargers to 241 total yards and 5-of-15 on third-down conversions. They also only allowed 29 rushing yards on the afternoon. Still, it wasn’t good enough, and the Patriots dropped their fifth game in a row. Godchaux sounded off following the game, via the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan. “I’m not gonna sit here and say, ‘You know, I still believe.’ It’s [expletive] frustrating,” said Godchaux. “…We can’t even afford to let them kick a field goal. We’ve gotta hold ’em to zero.” The Patriots rank eighth in the NFL with only 310.5 yards allowed per game. The defense has been doing their part, especially in recent weeks. Unfortunately, the offense has just not been able to hold up their end of the bargain. They will have a chance to show some improvement on Thursday, when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a short turnaround game.
