A'Shawn Robinson Signs; Others Sought

Carolina agreed with A'Shawn Robinson, IDL, to a 3 year deal. The deal is worth $22.5 million (and therefore, $7.5 million average annually), with roughly $10 million of that guaranteed.  The 6'3.5, 320 lb lineman, 28 year old Alabama pick was a 2nd rounder (46 overall) by Detroit, where in a 4-3 he had 5 sacks in four years.  He spent 3 years with the Rams, including two with Ejiro Evero, starting two of those three seasons.   He spent last year starting for the Giants. PFF has him generally higher against the run,  and the agile big man has had 60+ tackles twice (2021, 2023) and at least 40 three more times (2017-19).  Not quite Derrick Brown numbers but very active in his gap.  He was #13 on PFF's IDL run stopper list after 2022. Another sign that this iteration of the Carolina Panthers, along with their guard purchases, is taking the trenches seriously.  If there's one place to be strong, that's it, to me.  Seems that Robinson could line up at end or NT, and seems reasonable that Shy Tuttle might stay, and then there's just depth after that.
At edge, the team appears ready to host Chase Young, former #2 pick, and DJ Wonnum, this week.  Wonnum, 6'5, 258 from South Carolina, has 23 career sacks after bing drafted in 2020 with the Vikings.   He had highs of 8 in both 2021 and 2023, the two years he started. Young has 16.5 sacks with Washington and SF, reaching a high of 7.5 in both his rookie year and 2023, but only had 1.5 in 2021 and 0 in 2022 while working through injury.
