Steve Wilks, Out As 49ers DC

So this is dirty pool by Kyle Shanahan - who's now blown leads in three Super Bowls - to get rid of Steve Wilks at this point, when all the DC jobs are closed. Wilks, Carolina's interim head coach in 2022, helmed the 8th in yards, 3rd in points defense in 2023.  He's a lot better than a volume of coaches who have jobs right now.   Hate it for him, the hard luck situation he's in. It's exascerbated by him being fired after the other 31 jobs were full.  This is the 17th opening at DC this offseason.  I hope the 9ers choke on it. Anthony Lynn, who was also on the 49ers staff, has gone to Washington.
