Panthers News: Panthers waive G Brett Toth

The Carolina Panthers are still doing some construction on their offensive line. As first reported by Darin Gantt of Panthers.com on Monday, the team has waived guard Brett Toth. Toth signed with Carolina back on Oct. 24, alongside outside linebacker Luiji Vilain. Prior to joining the Panthers, the United States Military Academy product broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles—for whom he appeared in 17 games between the 2020 and 2021 campaigns. The 6-foot-6, 304-pounder played three games this season, including a start in Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans. Toth received the nod at right guard, where he allowed four pressures over 44 pass-blocking opportunities in the 17-10 loss. Week 13 saw a new starting combination for the Panthers, who lined up Justin McCray on the left side and undrafted rookie Nash Jensen on the right. The lead candidate to fill Toth’s spot on the roster may be veteran Gabe Jackson, who signed with the team’s practice squad last Wednesday.
