Packers News: Behind the Numbers: Self-inflicted errors doom Packers in loss to Giants

The Behind the Numbers series takes a closer look at the key stats and figures that ended up defining the Green Bay Packers on-field performance.A bevy of self-inflicted errors led to the Green Bay Packers demise on Monday night against the New York Giants. In all three phases of the game, the Packers were unable to get out of their own way, and eventually that proved to be too much to overcome, despite the Giants doing their best to help Green Bay out. If it wasn't for two New York giveaways that the Packers really had nothing to do with, this game wouldn't have been as close as it was. "We didn't deserve to win the game," said Matt LaFleur afterward. "We didn't play very well in all three phases. Had too many turnovers. Had penalties and just way too many mistakes, a lack of execution. That's unfortunate because we had a great opportunity, we were able to battle back in the game and take the lead, but ultimately couldn't finish it."Green Bay's playoff chances took a hit with this loss as they now fall into large group of five teams sitting at 6-7 on the season, all vying for that final playoff spot. However, even with Monday's performance, this is a Packers team that still very much controls its own destiny. Now having gone back to rewatch the game, along with diving into the key stats and figures, here is what you need to know about the Packers' performance against New York.
