He has been one of their most productive edge players, making plays in both the running and passing games. He can also move all around the defensive line, frequently rotating to the interior on third downs. Without JFM, the Jets will likely ask some combination of Will McDonald, Micheal Clemons, and potentially another draft pick to fill the void. It will be a tall task for the Jets, as Franklin-Myers has been a mainstay on their defense since 2020. In a perfect world, the Jets would be able to keep everyone. But their cap situation has left them in a tough spot, meaning that the team had to make the hard decision to move on from one of their best defensive players.
