Tony Adams and Jets defense reenact NYJ_Matt’s video

ImageNYJ_Matt is growing too powerful The New York Jets’ players are quite active on Jets Twitter — and they attempted to let the world know it. Jets safety Tony Adams nabbed his third interception of the season in the team’s victory over the New England Patriots. The TV camera panned to a snippet of the team’s celebration, but it was difficult to make out what they were doing. Just need the jets to post the whole clip now pic.twitter.com/J9qrFEl7R0 — Andrew Rinaldi (@_andyyy14) January 7, 2024 After the game, Adams explained the intention behind the celebration. This is hysterical: I just talked to #Jets safety Tony Adams who said the celebration after his INT was going to be a recreation of this video from Matt. Clearly this made its way around locker room. 😂😂 https://t.co/WD1QTWjgdX — Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) January 7, 2024 Sauce Gardner also mentioned that the celebration was inspired by the video. Sauce Gardner talks about the celebration after Tony Adams' interception and shaking each other's hands: "That was a little thing on Twitter… we tried to reinvent that, but you know." 😂 pic.twitter.com/Nlb2r3ssWE — Jets Videos (@snyjets) January 7, 2024 NYJ_Matt is, of course, a beloved Jet X writer and highly popular Jets Twitter member. Perhaps Jordan Whitehead was the one to tell Adams about Matt’s video — or maybe Adams checks it out himself. Either way, the fact that the Jets’ players attempted to re-create a Jets Twitter post is hilarious. The interception was a nice capper to Adams’ second NFL season, which was the 24-year-old’s first as a full-time starter. Adams started all 15 games he appeared in and finished with three interceptions, five passes defended, and 82 tackles. The Jets signed Adams as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in 2022, and the rookie surprisingly cracked New York’s initial 53-man roster. After playing sparingly throughout most of the season, Adams received playing time at safety late in the year due to an injury suffered by starter Lamarcus Joyner. Adams impressed near the end of 2022 and built upon that success in the offseason, ultimately earning a starting job in 2023 despite entering the year with only one start under his belt.
