Jacksonville on Wednesday announced jersey numbers for its 2024 free agent class and acquired-via-trade quarterback Mac Jones, as well as a new digit for second-year Jaguar, running back D’Ernest Johnson.The club awarded players a combined $188,550,000 in total guarantees this offseason, leading the NFL. Remove the $88 million guaranteed in edge rusher Josh Allen’s five-year contract extension, and the Jaguars would still rank in the top half of the league in guaranteed spending this year.Perhaps most notably, Jacksonville signed former San Francisco defensive lineman Arik Armstead roughly one month following his second Super Bowl appearance with the 49ers, in which he played through an injury. The 49ers released Armstead in March to create salary cap space, allowing him to re-connect with the general manager who selected him in 2015, Trent Baalke, now in charge of the Jaguars’ roster.
