Jaguars News: Report: Jaguars 'calling' about trade-up for 'specific pass-catcher'

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Jaguars are on the line, making calls about potentially trading up in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday evening. With a “specific pass-catcher” as their alleged target. “The Jacksonville Jaguars are also calling around trying to move up…teams taking their calls believe they are on the hunt for a specific pass catcher, per source,” Russini wrote. Throughout the draft process, wide receivers, Marvin Harrison Jr. Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze, and tight end Brock Bowers have often been projected as top-15-caliber prospects. Jacksonville currently holds the No. 17 overall pick. Jacksonville has a need at the position after losing its No. 1 pass-catcher. Calvin Ridley, to Tennessee via free agency in March. The Jaguars signed former Buffalo receiver Gabe Davis and former Baltimore receiver Devin Duvernay in corresponding moves, but are believed to covet another outside receiver prospect in the draft. Shortly before sharing the nugget about Jacksonville, Russini reported that San Francisco is calling teams about moving up from the No. 31 overall pick, with 49ers wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel included in those conversations as potential trade pieces. The Jaguars have frequently been linked with a potential Aiyuk trade throughout the offseason, most recently by NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah on Wednesday. The first round of the NFL draft will begin at 8 p.m. ET. Email Sign up Like this article?
