Dolphins News: Dolphins expected to re-sign DL Da'Shawn Hand

The Miami Dolphins have been working hard to add bodies to their defensive line room, and while they’ve brought in four from outside the organization, they’ve now retained one of their own. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Miami is re-signing defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand. Hand, 28, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Alabama where he won two national championships. He spent over three seasons with Detroit followed by a quick stint on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad and a two-game over two-season stretch with the Tennessee Titans. Miami signed Hand late last offseason, and after he failed to make the initial roster, he was signed to the practice squad and eventually promoted. For the Dolphins in 2023, Hand recorded 17 tackles, three quarterback hits, two passes defensed and a sack in 16 games. He’ll now have an opportunity to battle with Isaiah Mack, Neville Gallimore, Daviyon Nixon, Benito Jones and Brandon Pili for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster or practice squad this offseason.
