The Miami Dolphins didn’t add an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, but they added size in a major way on Day 2. With the No. 55 overall selection, the Dolphins picked 6’8, 331-pound Houston offensive tackle Patrick Paul.The bad news for the Dolphins is that Paul doesn’t really have an avenue to make much of an impact as a rookie. With Terron Armstead and Austin Jackson bookending at tackle, and Kendall Lamm serving as a versatile backup, it’s likely that Miami’s second-round pick will have a first year in the NFL similar to 2023 second-rounder Cam Smith.The good news: there’s a real chance Armstead and Lamm both retire after the 2024 season.
