Dolphins News: Dolphins signing former Broncos DL Jonathan Harris

The Miami Dolphins have been adding defensive linemen at a furious pace this offseason, signing Isaiah Mack, Davison Nixon, Neville Gallimore and Benito Jones. Then, late Thursday night, they signed a fifth at the position with Jonathan Harris joining the roster on a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Harris, 27, was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted in 2019 following a collegiate career at FCS school Lindenwood. While Harris failed to make the roster as a rookie, he was signed to the team’s practice squad, promoted ro the 53-man and cut all before the middle of the season. He was claimed off waivers by the Denver Broncos and finished out his rookie contract with the team. In four seasons, Harris has appeared in 33 games, recording 81 tackles (six for a loss), six quarterback hits and a sack. He’ll now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the previously mentioned signings at the position as well as 2023 undrafted rookie Brandon Pili, who split his first year between the active roster and the practice squad.
