Dolphins News: Report: Former Dolphins S DeShon Elliott signing with the Steelers

The Miami Dolphins have made an effort to sign some of their own free agents, but there have been a handful that have decided to sign with other teams for the 2024 NFL season. On Thursday, the Dolphins lost another key member of their 2023 squad, as safety DeShon Elliott is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz. Elliott, 26, signed a one-year deal with Miami last offseason after spending four with the Baltimore Ravens (2018-21) and one with the Detroit Lions (2022). As a member of the Dolphins, he played 84% of the team’s defensive snaps and 4.8% of special teams. He finished the season recording 82 tackles, seven passes defensed, one interception and one fumble recovery. Miami has already signed Jordan Poyer to pair with Jevon Holland in the defensive backfield, but general manager Chris Grier and company should be looking to add more at the position for depth purposes at the very least.
