Over the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering window, the Miami Dolphins have lost a number of key defensive players who played for their team for the last few seasons. Tuesday night, another defensive piece found a new home, as defensive lineman Raekwon Davis agreed to a two-year, $14 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Davis, 26, was drafted by Miami in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft following a collegiate career at Alabama that saw him make three All-SEC teams and win a national championship. During his four seasons with the Dolphins, Davis played in 63 games and recorded 129 tackles (five for a loss), 10 quarterback hits and two sacks. The former Crimson Tide defensive lineman becomes Miami’s second at the position to agree to a deal elsewhere since the start of the tampering period, as Christian Wilkins plans to sign a mega-deal to join the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, the Dolphins will have to find some solid contributors to put around Zach Sieler, who the team signed to an extension prior to the 2023 season.
