Cowboys News: Schedule release date set, projecting UDFAs' chances

Teams thought they’d be able to start making travel plans this week, but the league has delayed the release of the 2024 schedule, apparently until next week. (The Cowboys already know they play one of the tougher slates of opponents.) In this edition of News and Notes, we also get a definitive answer on why the team didn’t pursue Derrick Henry, we see what CeeDee Lamb is doing on his own to prep for camp, and we dive into why the Cowboys are still waiting on doing a deal with Dak Prescott.Meanwhile, Ezekiel Elliott made his debut in his new jersey number, we look at a dark horse candidate to be the star of the backfield this year, and a former undrafted free agent has advice for this year’s crop… just as we also project which UDFAs have the best shot at making the team in 2024. We’ll also wonder which Cowboys veterans could have competition this summer, and we get the inside scoop on a late-round draft pick (plus what he needs to improve on) from his collegiate position coach.
