5 best remaining free-agent offensive tackles for Commanders

The Washington Commanders went into the 2024 NFL draft with a significant need for an offensive tackle. Some fans believe Washington needed two offensive tackles, but new general Adam Peters clearly believes that the right tackle, Andrew Wylie, is serviceable and that a new offensive scheme will help. However, after releasing veteran Charles Leno Jr., who would start at left tackle for the Commanders in 2024? Peters expressed confidence in veterans Cornelius Lucas and Trent Scott, but he did try to move back up into the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Of course, a deal could not be made, and instead of reaching for a tackle with one of their second-round picks, Peters followed his board and eventually chose Brandon Coleman of TCU at No. 67 overall. Some thought Coleman would be better at guard, but not Peters. In addition to his measurables, Coleman’s college tape backs up Peters’ belief in him. So, does Washington have enough at offensive tackle heading into the season?Wylie, Coleman, Lucas and Scott are under contract. The Commanders could use another veteran with experience on the left side to help protect rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. There are some options available. However, they all either have age or injury concerns — or both. Here are five offensive tackle options for Washington.
