Washington Commanders complete 2024 NFL draft class

The 2024 NFL draft is officially over. The Washington Commanders welcomed nine new players to the roster, all at different positions. Things kicked off on Thursday night when Washington was on the clock at No. 2 overall and selected LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. There had been mystery weeks before the draft about whether the Commanders would choose Daniels or Drake Maye. As it turns out, it had been Daniels for a while, according to general manager Adam Peters. The Commanders began the draft with nine picks, thanks to the trades last season of defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young. Washington traded the No. 40 overall pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in a pick swap that gave the Commanders an extra third-rounder, but they sent one of their third-rounders back to Philly.
