- Placed S Percy Butler, C Tyler Larsen and T Charles Leno Jr. on the Reserve/Injured List
- Signed LS Tucker Addington, T Alex Akingbulu and QB Jake Fromm from the practice squad
- Elevated S Sean Chandler and CB Nick Whiteside II from the practice squad pic.twitter.com/LrcoKTju7r— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) December 30, 2023 The Washington Commanders are shutting down more players as another lost season winds down. LT Charles Leno Jr. was the first name reported this morning. He suffered a calf injury vs the Rams two weeks ago and didn't play vs the Jets last week. He was already ruled out for tomorrow's game against the 49ers, but will now also miss the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. C Tyler Larsen is in the same situation, but he suffered a knee injury two weeks ago. They have been replaced in the lineup by Cornelius Lucas and Nick Gates respectively. Percy Butler was also ruled out of tomorrow's game, and he's reportedly going to end his season on injured reserve. He showed up on this week's injury report with a wrist injury. Ben Standig from the Athletic reported that the injury is not serious, but it would to keep him sidelined for the final two games. Along with LT Charles Leno, safety Percy Butler (wrist) and Tyler Larsen (knee) appear likely headed to IR per sources.

Butler’s injury is not serious but likely keeps him sidelined in the final two games regardless. Larsen sat out last week’s loss at the Jets.— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) December 30, 2023 If these reports are correct, Washington will have three open roster spots that can be filled with practice squad players or recent tryouts. Washington also has several other players dealing with injuries that could be shut down for the season, opening up more spots. CBs Benjamin St-Juste(concussion) and Kendall Fuller(knee) were also ruled out, and could be the next names to go to IR. Rookie RB Chris Rodriguez was also placed on injured reserve this week. Jacoby Brissett was named the starter for tomorrow's game, but he reported tightness in his hamstring after meetings on Thursday, and he's listed as questionable. The latest report has him as a game-time decision. Sam Howell would get the start again if Brissett isnt able to play. Jake Fromm is on the practice squad, and could either be elevated, or signed to the 53-man roster if needed in either of the last two games. #Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (questionable, hamstring) is shaping up to be a game-time decision. Sam Howell will be ready to start if Brissett can't go Sunday vs. San Francisco.— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) December 30, 2023
