Photos and videos from Day 2 of Commanders rookie minicamp

The Washington Commanders completed Day 2 of rookie minicamp on Saturday, and quarterback Jayden Daniels remained front and center. The No. 2 overall pick looked sharp in drills as coaches continued to work on installing the offense with the rookie class. It’s early, but Daniels appears to already have formed a connection with third-round pick Luke McCaffrey. While the cameras focused on Daniels Saturday, the most significant news from the day was second-round pick Johnny Newton’s foot injury. Newton suffered a foot injury during his final college season at Illinois, played through it, won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and then had surgery in January. However, as Newton went to the doctor recently for an update on that foot, it was discovered he had a similar injury in the opposite foot. He will undergo surgery next week, but head coach Dan Quinn was relieved to discover this now rather than in August. As for the rest of what happened on the field, let’s look at some photos and videos from Saturday’s action, courtesy of those in attendance on Day 2 of rookie minicamp.
