After putting together a way too early 53-man roster prediction for the Indianapolis Colts following the 2024 NFL draft, let’s now take that one step further and try to project what the Colts starting defensive lineup is going to be.In today’s NFL, particularly along the defensive front, where there is so much rotation depending on the situation, starting lineups aren’t the be-all-end-all by any means. Far more than 11 players are going to see playing time and contribute. So, within each of those position groups, I noted when and how other players would get on the field. Also of note, since this is a nickel leauge, that is what I will be projecting with the Colts going to spend the majority of their snaps in this alignment.It goes without saying but a lot can change between now and when the regular season begins, but given the current construction of the Colts’ 91-man roster, here is how their starting defense could shake out for Week 1 of the regular season.
