A top priority for the Indianapolis Colts coming into the 2024 NFL Draft was adding more playmaking on offense. In the second round at pick 52 overall, they certainly did that, selecting Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Last season for the Longhorns, Mitchell was a big play threat, catching 55 of his 86 targets at 15.4 yards per catch with 11 touchdowns.“I think he’s got a rare ability to separate at the top of routes,” Shane Steichen said after the draft. “He’s got an arsenal of releases versus press man, you can see it show up on tape. The guy had 11 touchdowns, I think he averaged 14.4 yards a catch. The guy is a competitor. To get him where we got him, I couldn’t be more fired up about it.
