After a pair of Day 2 trades and some movement on Day 3, the Colts ended up making nine selections during the 2024 NFL Draft, beginning with edge rusher Laiatu Latu from UCLA and ending with Oklahoma interior defender Jonah Laulu.The Colts were able to check several boxes, which included bolstering their pass rush, adding playmaking presence on offense, and building the depth of their offensive line in what was a very good draft class at that position.However, absent from those early-round selections were picks used on defensive backs–that took place in the latter portion of the draft. This was a young position group for the Colts last season that went through growing pains, resulting in inconsistencies. In short, too many big plays were allowed, and not enough plays were made on the ball. However, during Chris Ballard’s pre-draft press conference, he did express optimism when discussing that position group referencing the experienced that they gained last season would hopefully result in improved play in 2024.Here is a first look at the Colts’ 2024 NFL Draft class:
