NFL changing kickoff rules to the XFL way of doing it?

Pointless waste of time It has become clear that the NFL’s rules on kickoffs basically make them pointless. Most NFL teams have a kicker that can boot it into the end zone and beyond. You can’t blame the League for doing all it can to prevent needless injuries. What has resulted is an anti-climatic waste of time. The kickoff return has become history, aside from the occasional on-side kick that you might see in desperation, so the NFL is considering adopting the XFL’s rules governing the kickoff. The XFL’s way Under the new rule, the kickoff will be moved back to the 30-yard line. The receiving team will line up at the 30, with the remainder of the kickoff team on the 35. Only the kicker and returner is able to move prior to the ball being fielded. This will ensure you won’t see players colliding at full speed in both directions, with the majority of gunners and blockers making contact before reaching their top speed, more akin to normal play. There’s no doubt that the XFL’s way of doing kickoffs is much safer than players from both sides running at full speed toward one another, as the NFL did before this change — For lessening the amount of head injuries, it’s a no-brainer (pun intended)! The XFL’s way only has the kicking and receiving teams, minus the kicker and returner lineup only five yards apart, so there’s not enough time or space before contact to get up to full speed, thereby lessening injuries dramatically. The change by ownership could be one of the most important changes made to the game when it comes to head injuries. As it was, the kickoff was a waste of time since most kickers can put the ball into or out of the end zone every time. Personally, I was all for it, what say you? Go Bucs!!
