Running Back Sean Tucker set to make it count this go around

Heart Ailment caused him to miss the 2023 spring activities Undrafted Free Agent Sean Tucker missed spring activities last year while dealing with a Heart problem that first surfaced around the NFL Combine, but was later cleared to play by doctors. When you miss time like that, especially when you are a rookie, it can be tough to catch up, and it was for Sean Tucker. He played sparingly during the first 3 to 4 games of the season, collecting just 15 carries for a 1.53 average. Word was that he also was having some problems with his blocking assignments. Nothing but fumbling will get you to the bench faster than missing blocks. And after the loss to the Eagles, his season was packed away on ice. Tucker knows that the Bucs need to see the player that was at Syracuse. The player that they thought they were signing. And they need to see it early on and leading into the new season. Tucker should have the chance to compete for the RB2 job this go around — this time with a much better chance, as he will not miss anything leading up to the new season. What they expect Recently, at the NFL Combine. Jason Licht was taking questions from the media when he was asked about Tucker and the 24 season. This is what he said. “He needs to take a big step,” Licht said. “He missed all the offseason OTA’s because of a heart deal that he was dealing with, so that’s always hard when you miss all of that stuff. He was a little bit behind the eight-ball.” “So, he will be ahead of it this year, hopefully, because he’s got a lot of talent. A lot of speed, size, all of the things you look for in a running back, so we’ll see where we’re at. We’re hopeful.” I’ll bet Jason Licht and Bowles are hopeful that he reaches the great heights that he is capable of reaching. He’s loaded with talent. He was clocked in the 40 in high school at 4.2. He has no problems with reaching a 4.3 now, which is still smoking fast. With all that speed, he can also run with some power and knock you backward. I would like to see Tucker win the RB1 spot and shift White to a 3rd down back. With that kind of speed like Achane from the Dolphins, he’s a threat to break a long one at any time. If the Bucs had a home run hitter in the backfield, think how much easier that makes it on Baker Mayfield. Tampa could be looking to draft a back in the later rounds of the draft as well; you never know. So let’s wish him the best and hope he can make our running game a threat. He is the most awarded player since Cadillac Williams and beyond to be a rookie in Tampa. We haven’t had many players come through here at tailback that turned many heads. Warrick Dunn had a few good seasons, and several have had a great season, maybe two. Rickey Bell had a fantastic season the year the Bucs hosted the NFC Conference Title game. Losing to the Rams and falling Just short of a Super Bowl birth. Cadillac Williams, James Wilder, LeGarrette Blount, Thomas Jones, Earnest Graham. All these backs had their moments. Here’s hoping Sean Tucker will have his too. Go Bucs!!   The post Running Back Sean Tucker set to make it count this go around appeared first on Bucs Life.
