Jason Licht Trolls Saints DE Cameron Jordan

The winners write the history books, so they say. That also means they have the most bragging rights and can talk smack when others attempt to take a shot at them. Bucs general manager Jason Licht took the liberty of doing this to Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan after the Bucs clinched the NFC South for the third year in a row. There’s no love lost between the Bucs and the Saints. For years Jordan has talked trash about the Bucs, including before the start of the 2023 season. During the Pro Bowl in the offseason, Jordan did an interview on NFL Network where he said the Bucs would “go back to being the Bucs” with Tom Brady no longer there, alluding to the decade-long struggle in Tampa Bay before Brady arrived. Well, this prediction from Jordan turned out to be very wrong. The Bucs made the postseason for the fourth year in a row, including the last three as NFC South division champions. Licht kept the receipts from Jordan, taking the opportunity to troll him by posting the old video and captioning it saying “Yep, went back to being the Bucs! Champs again.” Yep, went back to being the Bucs! Champs again. pic.twitter.com/osLQpp8LBl — Jason Licht (@jasonrlicht) January 7, 2024 Jason Licht Can Be Quite Funny On Social Media Jason Licht isn’t always active on social media, but when he is, it’s usually very important or quite comical, such as him calling out Cameron Jordan. Licht tweeted out the thinking emoji a few hours before in support of Antoine Winfield Jr, who made another incredible play and his building his case for All-Pro. Winfield famously posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that emoji after getting snubbed from the Pro Bowl. 🤔 https://t.co/Onb1EAaeRt — Jason Licht (@jasonrlicht) January 7, 2024 The Bucs G.M. Deserves To Say What He Wants Jokes aside, Bucs general manager Jason Licht is well within his right to gloat for the job he’s done this season. There were many national pundits saying that Tampa Bay would fail and be in contention for the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. These picks included starters Calijah Kancey in the first round, Cody Mauch in the second round and YaYa Diaby in the third round. Mayfield revived his career, throwing for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdown passes to just 10 interceptions. He has played himself into a better contract next season and it likely could be with Tampa Bay again. As a team, Tampa Bay improved from 8-9 to 9-8 in the second year under Todd Bowles as head coach and first-year with offensive coordinator Dave Canales. That’s lots of credit to go around, but Licht should certainly be among the group. The Bucs will be hosting a home game in a rematch against the Eagles in the first round of the postseason. As for the Saints, well … they’re season is done and it’s another runner-up finish in the NFC South. They can watch the Bucs from the couch this weekend.
