Bills News: Bills crack top-10 spot in NFL Wire's latest power rankings

The Buffalo Bills have seen a lot change around One Bills Drive this offseason. The Bills had numerous outgoings and not just players who were pending free agents. The highlight of Buffalo’s free agency period was the slew of players the team needed to release to get under the 2024 NFL salary cap. Names involved there include now former defensive backs Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White, along with center Mitch Morse.Even so, now that we’re staring down the 2024 NFL draft, there is still plenty of faith to be found in the Bills. Our friends at Touchdown Wire released a power rankings that favors Buffalo. The Bills land at the No. 3 overall spot. Here’s the breakdown: I really would have liked to see the Bills make a move for a top perimeter receiver. We saw what Jerry Jeudy and Diontae Johnson went for- the Bills could have done one of those deals. They signed Curtis Samuel, who will be a fun gadget slot receiver who can make plays, and brought back Ty Johnson to backup James Cook. Don’t forget that their defense was also riddled with injuries last season. A defense with Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard in the middle all season will be a very good unit. They also signed Mike Edwards from the Chiefs at safety to a cheap one-year deal. While there are holes at receiver, they can be filled through the draft. And as long as Josh Allen is under center, the Bills will be in the Super Bowl picture. Naturally Allen would be the centerpiece as to why the Bills are held in such high regard. However, the best point potentially made is the injury situation on defense. Yes the Bills lost their safety tandem that dominated the NFL for years. But Buffalo will get back a linebacking pair that could end up doing the same. Depending on the way the upcoming draft goes, this could be a Bills team competing for the top-overall spot in NFL Wire’s power rankings in due time:The outlet’s entire power rankings via Jarrett Bailey can be found below:
