Bills News: Bills spoke with Texas' Byron Murphy at 2024 NFL combine

The Buffalo Bills have spoke to defensive lineman prospect Byron Murphy at the 2024 NFL scouting combine. The prospect from Texas confirmed to that he had a formal interview with the Bills. The 6-foot-1, 308 pound defense is one of the 2024 NFL draft’s top defensive line prospects. Pro Football Focus grades Murphy as their 11th best prospect in the entire upcoming draft class. The football analytics outlet graded his 2023 efforts a 91.1 overall mark. En route to that grade, Murphy put up five sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss in 13 games played last year. NFL.com adds that Murphy is a potential “three-down defender” and says he can take on double teams. While DaQuan Jones was the best Bills defender at this role last season, he is both 32 and a pending free agent.
