Cincinnati Bengals draft Jermaine Burton in third round of 2024 NFL Draft

The Bengals nabbed another wide receiver for Joe Burrow with the 80th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.Former player T.J. Houzmanzada announced that Cincinnati picked Alabama WR Jermaine Burton in the third round Friday night. The California native led the Crimson Tide in 2023 with 798 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 39 receptions. He had a 4.45 40-yard dash at the combine.The pick comes after receiver Tee Higgins requested a trade when the Bengals placed him under the franchise tag. Higgins said recently he still expects to play in Cincinnati this season.Cincinnati selected Michigan DT Kris Jenkins in the second round.The junior out of Maryland started all 15 games for last season's championship-winning team. He's 6-foot-3 and 299 pounds. His father, also named Kris, was a two-time All-Pro with the Carolina Panthers. He also went to four Pro Bowls.Jenkins is the Bengals' second pick of the draft, with first-round selection Amarius Mims already arriving in Cincinnati earlier today. One-on-one with Bengals first round draft pick Amarius MimsThe Georgia OT "could be a home run" pick for the Bengals, according to ESPN's Booger McFarland. Draft analysts believe Mims will be a "good starter" within a couple of years. He joins an already big o-line with fellow 6-foot-8, 340+ pound tackles Trent Brown and Orlando Brown Jr.The Bengals still have picks in all remaining rounds, including another selection in round three, and two picks in rounds six and seven.
