The Philadelphia Eagles take a cross country flight to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a game with a little more riding on it than we may have predicted a few weeks ago. Both teams are sliding currently, making this game particularly important for each squad this late in the year. The Seahawks have lost four straight and five of their last six. They looked like a sure-fire playoff team but their margin for error has shrunk considerably. With a couple of rock fight games against the Titans and Steelers on the horizon, this game becomes important to keep playoff hopes alive. An eighth loss this week would probably require Seattle to run the table in the last three games to sneak back into the playoff picture. The Eagles will be in the playoffs as they raced out to ten wins. However, they’re currently sitting as the top wildcard spot because of back-to-back ugly losses to San Francisco and Dallas. Truthfully, the Eagles are probably relieved to see the Seahawks on the schedule after the gauntlet of Dallas, at Kansas City, San Fran, and at Dallas. The Eagles close out with a home and away against the Giants with the Cardinals sandwiched in between. Win this one and there’s a real chance at grabbing the NFC East back from the Cowboys and possibly the top seed from the 49ers. I think the Eagles bounce back here. Lumen Field is not a particularly easy place to play, but the Eagles are simply the better squad and they know how important this game sets up the rest of their playoff run. Both passing games should have success, setting up the over for success.
