Bradley Beal doesn’t want to see the Wizards move to Virginia

Image Photo by Barry Gossage/NBAE via Getty Images The Phoenix Suns guard and former Washington Wizards star gave his opinion on his old team’s planned move to Alexandria. Former Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal is settling in with the Phoenix Suns. He is currently out of commission due to an ankle injury, but that didn’t stop the former Washington franchise player from opining on a hot topic here in the DMV: the Wizards and Capitals’ planned move to Alexandria in 2028. Marc J. Spears of Andscape interviewed Beal in a piece that was published today. The piece is a running diary of Beal getting settled to his new city. In this feature, there are some topics of interest to Suns fans such as how he is acclimating to the city and the opportunity for him to interact with Mercury players like Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner. But let’s be honest, you’re reading this for Beal’s opinion on the Wizards’ planned move. In short, Beal is not pleased with the move and wishes that Monumental Sports & Entertainment would find some way to work with the D.C. Government so the Wizards (and presumably the Capitals too) would stay. He also directly called owner Ted Leonsis out, saying “ What is that, Ted? We love you to death. We understand what you want to do and are trying to do. But you can’t take the team out of D.C.” Beal is also hopeful that the D.C. government would attract the Washington Commanders so they could return to playing home games in the District and wanted all of the region’s teams to play in D.C. proper. What are your thoughts of Beal’s comments? Let us know in the comments below.
