Quick Reaction: Raptors 111, 76ers 121

Image Raptors 111 Final
Box Score 121 76ers Image Image B+ S. Barnes35 MIN, 12 PTS, 7 REB, 8 AST, 1 STL, 3-11 FG, 2-7 3FG, 4-4 FT, 4 BLK, 3 TO, -1 +/-This was not the typical scoring game we’ve grown accustomed to seeing fromScottie but he was still widely impactful, he was great as a weak side defender and had some good moments on Embiid, his playmaking was superb and he found cutter after cutter whether it was transition or in the half court, it was just his own offense that he couldn’t get going. Image A+ P. Siakam36 MIN, 31 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST, 0 STL, 10-16 FG, 0-4 3FG, 11-12 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, -4 +/-Pascal proactively lived at the free throw line tonight and it was his aggressiveness going towards the rim that was a main cause of this. Pascal’s finishing was very good tonight and he attacked closeouts well as well, he knifed through Philly’s defense all game long. Image A- J. Poeltl29 MIN, 19 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 9-15 FG, 0-0 3FG, 1-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -14 +/-Props to Jakob for his first half defense on Joel Embiid, he was very physical with Jim, did a great job denying him the ball and just making life tough for him, the second half was a different story but Jakob was doing his best for as long as possible, Jakob’s offense was good as he was hitting push shot after push shot and really cutting well, good game from Jakob. Image B- O. Anunoby35 MIN, 12 PTS, 4 REB, 5 AST, 1 STL, 4-9 FG, 0-4 3FG, 4-4 FT, 0 BLK, 2 TO, -11 +/-Og did some nice stuff off the ball, his outside shot was not falling and his defense was once again for the most part, poor, especially for his standards, he seems to be in a funk lately. Image C- D. Schroder34 MIN, 6 PTS, 3 REB, 6 AST, 2 STL, 2-8 FG, 0-2 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -16 +/-Pretty bad defense from Schroder tonight, he could not stay with Maxey and his screen navigation wasn’t very good, his offense was also bad as he really had trouble finishing amongst the trees, he did have some nice moments as a playmaker though. Image A G. Trent Jr.26 MIN, 17 PTS, 4 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 6-11 FG, 5-8 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -10 +/-Gary once again successfully doing what he does best, shooting the ball, he did most of his work off the ball but he had a nice pump fake one dribble middy pull up as well, great to shoot the premier shooter in Toronto return to form. Image D+ P. Achiuwa16 MIN, 4 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 2-9 FG, 0-2 3FG, 0-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -1 +/-Pretty rough game offensively for Precious, could not finish around the basket much, did have some solid defensive possessions early on in the game though. Image C- M. Flynn10 MIN, 2 PTS, 4 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 1-4 FG, 0-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 1 BLK, 3 TO, 9 +/-Flynn did not add much of anything tonight, on either end of the floor. Image C+ O. Porter Jr.15 MIN, 5 PTS, 3 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 1-3 FG, 1-3 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -10 +/-Otto’s first game back in the rotation, he was able to knock down a shot and get to the line, his defense wasn’t impactful, but the threat of his floor spacing is something this team craved. Image B+ Darko RajakovicGame plan for Embiid was pretty good and limited him for a huge chunk of the game, allowed the offense to be run more through the front court which boded well. Things We Saw
  • Gary Trent Jr is continuing to show that he has found his stroke from outside and that he is still the floor spacer that Toronto needs him to be.
  • Jakob really showed tonight that he can be a nice source of play finishing if the opportunity presents itself and he worked well with a lot of guys tonight.
  • Pascal Siakam showed once again that if you put the ball in his hands consistently then he can take on whoever is thrown at him.
