The Brooklyn Nets have had arguably one of the worst stretches in the NBA over the past month as they have taken plenty of losses. In a season filled with disappointment for the organization and fanbase alike, the Nets did receive some good news as they are looking to turn things around. Brooklyn announced on Thursday that guard Mikal Bridges, who suffered a right shin contusion in Wednesday’s 105-103 loss at the Portland Trail Blazers, is probable for Friday’s matchup at the Los Angeles Lakers. Bridges went down in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game after being run into by Trail Blazers forward Jabari Walker. After the contact, Bridges initially had trouble getting to his feet on his own before eventually doing so and subsequently heading to the Nets’ bench. Bridges rode the exercise bike, but ended up going back to the locker room, possibly to get his right leg looked at further. After some time, Bridges was available to come back into the game and was able to play all the way through until the end. Brooklyn head coach Jacque Vaughn said after the game that it was too soon to say if Bridges was going to play on Friday, but the team has confirmed that he is likely to play against the Lakers.
