Photo by Sam Hodde/Getty Images Dallas got back on track in a big way The Dallas Mavericks enjoyed a relatively stress-free victory Saturday night, blowing out the San Antonio Spurs 144-119 in Dallas. Luka Doncic returned from a one-game absence due to a quad injury, and returned to his MVP form with another 30-point triple double. Doncic led all scorers with 39 points, while adding 12 rebounds and 10 assists. In total the Mavericks have seven scorers in double figures, as most of the regular rotation chipped in against a lottery-bound Spurs. Here are the numbers that popped out. 20: Points scored by Dante Exum The Dante Exum revolution continued against the Spurs. After entering the starting lineup Dec. 6 against the Jazz, Exum has continued to thrive and his 20 points against the Spurs marked the third time this month Exum has reached the 20-point mark. In fact, Exum has now scored in double-figures for eight straight games, a sight for sore eyes as the Mavericks have had to weather an injury storm. Exum did what he’s done all month — tossed in a couple of open threes, thrived around the basket, and kept the ball popping with his aggressive dribble and smart passing. 42: Combined shots made from three and at the rim The Mavericks offense against the Spurs was efficiency bliss — of the 52 made field goals from Dallas, 42 of them were either in the restricted area or from three. That type of ratio explains the 144 point explosion, as the Mavericks got any shot they wanted throughout the night. Dallas made an eye-popping 15 above-the-break threes, but also went 8-of-9 on corner threes. The Mavericks didn’t just have a great shooting night, but generated some of the easiest looks in basketball. That’s a recipe for great success. 4: 3 pointers made by Grant Williams I was going to include a stat from Doncic’s incredible performance, and much should be said about how much he powered Dallas to a big win. But instead I’ll shout out much maligned Grant Williams, who rebounded with a nice 14-point game. It was Williams first game in double digits since a Dec. 12 win against the Lakers, and also the last time Williams made more than one three pointer in a game. Williams finished 4-of-6 from three against the Spurs, and while his night was not perfect, it was a good slump buster on offense.
