Mavericks vs Pistons Preview and Game Thread: Dallas hosts Detroit in the last home game of the regular season

Photo by Nic Antaya/Getty Images Let’s just get through this without injuries The Dallas Mavericks (50-30) host the Detroit Pistons (13-67) in the final home game of the regular season for Dallas. The game starts are 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on WFAA locally. The Pistons have lost 67 games! That’s so many! Time for them to lose one more when they play in Dallas tonight. Dallas is closing the regular season on one heck of a run and it would be great if they could keep winning as they technically have a chance to pass the Los Angeles Clippers. Let’s get to the key things:

At the moment Luka Doncic is questionable with his ankle injury so I’d say it’s a toss up if he plays given that the Pistons stink and Dallas has the Southwest locked up and are fairly locked into the fifth seed. Kyrie Irving is out with a hamstring injury (and rest, if we’re honest). Dereck Lively is also missing this game. The Pistons have a gorillion guys out. Cade Cunningham is doubtful. Jalen Duren is questionable. Ausar Thompson is out as is Simone Fontecchio. Even Isaiah Stewart and Quetin Grimes are missing the game. So this could get weird. We’ll see what kind of work we get done after this game. I’m going to miss the first half. Josh is sick. Our team is ready for a short break haha!
