NBA writer breaks down prospects the Kings could draft at 13th

The NBA Draft is just over one month away. As we get closer to June 26th, USA Today and For The Win Senior NBA writer Bryan Kalbrosky joined The Drive Guys this week to discuss some prospects that could be on the Sacramento Kings’ radar. Kalbrosky also revealed a player that Sacramento recently brought in for a pre-draft workout (hint: he’s a local product):

Topics Discussed
  • Where does the quality in this draft drop off?
  • “I think it’s been a little bit overstated how poor this class is.”
  • Bryan says the best player in this draft could be picked “anywhere”
  • Who should the Kings target at 13th?
  • Duke guard and Sacramento native Jared McCain is a player that Bryan thinks the Kings should target if Malik Monk leaves in free agency
  • Kalbrosky thinks that McCain’s scoring and shooting will translate to the NBA level
  • Sacramento has brought in a couple of projected top-five picks for workouts (Alexandre Sarr and Donovan Clingan). Does that mean the Kings want to jump in the draft, or they are anticipating one of those players falls to 13th?
  • Is Zach Edey one of the sleepers in this draft class?
  • “I think he’s somebody who in analytic models is going to pop.” – Bryan on Edey
  • Illinois forward and Sacramento native Coleman Hawkins worked out for the Kings on Wednesday
