Kayte Christensen on how a road trip could be beneficial to the Kings

ImageThe Sacramento Kings are about to embark on a seven-game road trip, but from Thursday, Jan. 25, through the end of February, the Kings only play four games at the Golden 1 Center. After the team’s seven-game road trip, they return home for two games before and after the NBA’s trade deadline on Thursday, Feb. 8, before hitting the road again for a three-game trip. After the NBA All-Star Game, the Kings return from the break at home against the Spurs before hitting the road again to end February and start March on the road. NBC Sports California analyst Kayte Christensen joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” on Wednesday morning to talk about how travel impacts a team and why it might be welcome to some players. “Your time is so incredibly wacky on the road, you’re in different timezones. All the comforts of travel are there but the schedule is brutal in terms of your sleep schedule and your recovery schedule… it’s a very scheduled out, methodical thing,” Christensen said. “But, I do recall, being on the road was a great time to really bond and do stuff together because you’re not really doing that at home.” Additional topics discussed include:
  • Kayte’s new hairstyle and packing hacks
  • Harrison Barnes’ performance against the Atlanta Hawks
  • How are the Kings adapting when opponents present a zone defense
