They are currently the tenth team in the conference with a 9-11 record and have shown some signs of growth and progress compared to last season. Speaking on Run It Back, Shams Charania said that the relationship between Trae Young and new head coach Quin Snyder is happy and strong, but they want to start winning more. “Trae Young finally has a coach that he can look at, he can respect, someone that’s thought of as a superstar head coach in Atlanta,” Charania said. That was good enough to help them reach the playoffs but they didn’t make it out of the first round. This was just weeks into Snyder’s tenure as the team’s coach and there hadn’t been enough time for them to fix the problems throughout the roster. Since then, Young and Snyder have grown closer and have built a stronger relationship and this can be key to them winning a lot, according to Charania. They have entered the new season with a shared goal and they want to make it far in the playoffs and prove to the rest of the teams in the East that they are one to fear. While it is true they have never been so driven, the conference is filled with so much talent and so much competition this season so it’s hard for them to overtake the rest. It’s great the chemistry between Young and Snyder is good but fans want more than friendships and camaraderie, they want wins.
