Murray recorded 41 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals during his 39 minutes on the court. This is exactly what the Hawks needed, and it helped them earn their second win of the young season. His 41 points tied a career-high that he set last March and comes after a rather ho-hum start to the season, in which Murray scored just 11, 18, and 15 points, respectively. But on Monday, he couldn’t seem to miss in the second half, when he scored 30 of his 41 points. He also shot 70% from the floor, another impressive feat that the Hawks will want to see again soon. Fans of the team have been worried about the Hawks since the new season started last week. They lost their first two games to the Charlotte Hornets and New York Knicks but then came back to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves. Are they finding their rhythm, or are there still kinks to work out? Although Murray was the Hawk who flew the highest on Monday, other players did well too, including Young, who had 24 points and 8 assists. De’Andre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, Saddiq Bey, and Onyeka Okongwu were also key contributors. The Hawks made their fans very happy with how they came back in the second half on Monday, and that was largely thanks to Murray.
