(Photo by Harry How/Getty Images) With the Miami Heat looking to improve it’s roster ahead of the NBA trade deadline on February 8, the team appears to be willing to wheel and deal, with veteran point guard Kyle Lowry reportedly being on the trading block. At this point in his career, Lowry won’t draw the kind of interest that he did as one of the best point guards in the league while he was with the Toronto Raptors, but the Heat might still be able to move him and improve its roster before next month’s deadline. With the trade deadline only a few weeks away, odds have surfaced about Lowry’s potential landing spot once the dust settles on the deadline next month. According to Bovada, the Atlanta Hawks are currently the favorite to land Lowry, with the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, and Cleveland Cavaliers right behind them via NBA Central. Obviously, the Heat would have to give up much more than Lowry in order to land Murray in a trade, especially with the number of teams rumored to be interested in acquiring the 27-year-old. In 35 games so far this season with the Heat, Lowry is averaging 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 44.1% from the floor and 40.8% from beyond the three-point line. Even though he’s no longer the dominant player of old, Lowry can still help a team and might be the ideal backcourt partner in Atlanta alongside superstar Trae Young, even if it is for the short term.
