It is a wildly different team than he saw during those finals, as the only remaining player from that run is Devin Booker, now with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the mix as the co-stars. Budenholzer will be tasked with helping the Suns rectify an embarrassing playoff exit, being swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round as the 6th seed in the West. The Bucks fired Bud following their first-round exit at the hands of the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler last season. Before that, Budenholzer led Milwaukee to at least the second round four years in a row, with the championship in 2021.
