Sixers star Joel Embiid made franchise history in road win over Thunder

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has played terrific basketball to begin the 2023-24 season. As the reigning league MVP, Embiid is averaging 32.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, and a career-high 6.3 assists. He has taken another step forward as a playmaker and has stepped up as a leader for this group. The big fella made history in Saturday’s 127-123 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. Embiid scored 35 points and joined franchise icons Allen Iverson and Billy Cunningham as the only players in franchise history to begin their seasons with at least 15 consecutive games of scoring 20-plus points.
