Sixers welcome Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey back to practice after illness

CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers were not only able to have Kelly Oubre Jr. return to practice on Monday, but they also had Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey return to the practice floor after they missed time with an illness. Embiid missed the two road games against the New Orleans Pelicans and the Boston Celtics due to an illness and Maxey missed the matchup with the Celtics. On Monday, the Sixers got back to work at practice and they welcomed both Embiid and Maxey back to the floor. “I think that they’re pretty much fine, too,” coach Nick Nurse said of his two stars. “I think Joel’s been out, obviously, a lot longer so he’s looking to get some rhythm back, but he certainly physically looks good now. So he’s working pretty hard.” The fact that the Sixers were able to have everybody back at practice is a good sign for this group. When Philadelphia is fully healthy and they have their full roster, they are tough to beat. They are a talented group with a lot of hard workers and that makes them a tough team to beat. “I just think it’s just good to see everybody and see everybody’s face collectively together,” added Patrick Beverley. “We’ve been without a couple guys you know, obviously, guys are traveling now, but it’s different traveling and seeing guys in the locker room. So, it’s good to just have everybody out there and catch a vibe today (Monday). Great work day.” Along with the return of Oubre Jr. on Monday, the Sixers having Embiid and Maxey return is an obvious big help for Philadelphia.
